If you live in St. Louis, you probably want to work in St. Louis.  Unfortunately, that's not always an option.  Consider crossing the bridge and exploring the job opportunities in St. Charles, Missouri.

There are numerous employment opportunities in St. Charles for everything from factory workers to paralegals.  If you work in the medical field, it will be especially easy to find work in this city.  Not sure where to begin your job hunt?  Here are a few ideas:

Barnes Jewish Hospital

This large hospital is located in St. Peters, near the Cave Springs exit for Highway 70.  They accept applications for most positions year-round, and almost always have openings for nurses, patient care techs, dietary aides, and similar positions.  Rumor has it that Barnes even offers free training and huge bonuses for nurses.

St. Joseph's Hospital

Like Barnes, this hospital is frequently hiring for a variety of positions.  Apply online to work as a nurse, dietary aide, or janitorial worker.  I had both of my children at this hospital, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.  This hospital is conveniently located near the 5th Street exit from Highway 70, making it very close for employees coming from North County.

McDonald's

Don't turn up your nose at fast food just yet.  Restaurant managers work hard, but they make decent money.  I know this from personal experience, as I spent 7 years working at McDonald's.  Many of my coworkers drove in from St. Louis because they said that the fast food restaurants in St. Charles pay $1-$2 more per hour.

I've got hundreds of other ideas for places that are hiring in St. Charles, but I'll save a few for my next post.  Good luck on your job search!
